What do you want to achieve in the next 10 years? I loved playing at the Queen's Open Days; it was such a pleasure to be able to play to so many people of my own age and to get such a great response! I think the whole campus is beautiful and it provides such a warm welcome to all of its visitors The dream is to tour some of the biggest and well-known places in the world and keep writing music people will be able to connect and relate to. I would love my music and my song writing to allow me to share a positive and good message with the world. Most of all, I would love to provide my family, friends and everyone who has supported me throughout my musical journey with a life that they could only dream of having! There have been a lot of amazing artists that have come from Northern Ireland and there are so many more talented artists yet to be discovered. There are so many different events and festivals that take place here to help give young, unsigned artists exposure. That's what I love about the music scene here, everyone is willing to help each other along and work together towards a brighter future for everyone! This year, Triona will appear at the internationally renowned Nashville Festival in Belfast, before going on tour in the USA as part of the Belfast Nashville Tour. The tour will include a career-making appearance at the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville where country music notables such as Trisha Yearwood, John Prine and Bonnie Raitt all began their glittering careers. Not only does it provide so many great resources for its students and such a warm and welcoming atmosphere but it also allows its students and guests to have a very positive and enjoyable experience. We're all familiar with the image of the poor student, but that doesn't mean it has to apply to you. It pays to get to grips with your finances and planning and prep (all the boring stuff) does pay dividends! It's important to enjoy your time at university and socialising is a big, big part of it, however, too much of a good thing can leave you short on essential funds for bills and food and going out every night will also impact on your health and studies – never mind the bank balance. Learning to budget is a useful lesson to learn; some will take to it like a duck to water, while others might have to learn the hard way! Learning to budget at university is a great skill for the future, giving you the chance to take charge of your finances and be more independent, however, there may be times when you encounter financial difficulties – the best thing to do is tackle them head on. The knowledgeable staff in the Student Guidance Centre and the Students' Union Advice Centre are there to assist with financial issues, so don't be afraid to ask for help; it's what they're there for!
