What do you want to achieve in the
next 10 years?
I loved playing at the Queen's Open
Days; it was such a pleasure to be
able to play to so many people of my
own age and to get such a great
response! I think the whole campus is
beautiful and it provides such a warm
welcome to all of its visitors
The dream is to tour some of the biggest and well-known
places in the world and keep writing music people will
be able to connect and relate to. I would love my music
and my song writing to allow me to share a positive and
good message with the world. Most of all, I would love
to provide my family, friends and everyone who has
supported me throughout my musical journey with
a life that they could only dream of having!

The music scene here is great! There have been a lot
of amazing artists that have come from Northern Ireland
and there are so many more talented artists yet to be
discovered. There are so many different events and
festivals that take place here to help give young, unsigned
artists exposure. That's what I love about the music
scene here, everyone is willing to help each other along
and work together towards a brighter future for everyone!
This year, Triona will appear at the internationally renowned
Nashville Festival in Belfast, before going on tour in the USA
as part of the Belfast Nashville Tour. The tour will include
a career-making appearance at the famous Bluebird Café
in Nashville where country music notables such as Trisha
Yearwood, John Prine and Bonnie Raitt all began their
glittering careers.

Things are really exciting in Northern Ireland at the
moment. There are so many good bands coming
out of NI, and I think people outside of the region
are finally starting to take notice of our bands.

and guests to have a very positive and enjoyable experience.

What do you think of Belfast as a
student city?
We're all familiar with the image of the poor student, but that doesn't
mean it has to apply to you. It pays to get to grips with your finances
and planning and prep (all the boring stuff) does pay dividends!
It's important to enjoy your time at university and
socialising is a big, big part of it, however, too much
of a good thing can leave you short on essential funds
for bills and food and going out every night will also
impact on your health and studies – never mind the
bank balance. Learning to budget is a useful lesson
to learn; some will take to it like a duck to water, while
others might have to learn the hard way!
Learning to budget at university is a great skill for the future,
giving you the chance to take charge of your finances and be
more independent, however, there may be times when you
encounter financial difficulties – the best thing to do is tackle
them head on.
The knowledgeable staff in the Student Guidance Centre
and the Students' Union Advice Centre are there to assist
with financial issues, so don't be afraid to ask for help; it's
what they're there for!
Wherever your money comes from while at university,
learning to prioritise your spending is crucial. There will be
