Can the European Union Resolve
the Life-Cycle of the Conflict in
Kosovo?
Vebi Kosumi1
This article analyses the life-cycle of the conflict in Kosovo. It investigates the conflict issues between Albanians
and Serbs, provides an explanation for the conflict and
relates it further to its social, historical and international
context. The Kosovar conflict is unique in the way that
in the last hundred years multiple third party actors have
been involved in attempts to find a solution. These include
the Great Powers, the Major Powers, the United Nations
and the European Union (amongst others). It is proposed
that the latter may be the key in resolving the conflict.
