To achieve a PgCert , you will complete : Understanding and Responding to Mental Distress and Illness ( 20 credits )/ plus two of the following : Application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Informed Practice ( 20 credits )/ Applying Interpersonal Therapy Informed Practice ( 20 credits )/ Risk and Resilience / Developing Professional Practice ( 20 credits )
To achieve a PgDip , you will also undertake : Theory and Practice of Person-centred Health and Wellbeing ( 20 credits ), Leading Person-centred Practice for Health and Wellbeing ( 20 credits ) and an elective 20 credit module .
To achieve an MSc , you will also complete a Dissertation ( 60 credits ).
MSc / PgDip / PgCert Person-Centred Practice ( Palliative Care )
This course is for graduates and practitioners who wish to develop their careers in the broad field of palliative care .
Modules
Route 1 : For any health professional working in palliative care .
To achieve a PgCert ( Palliative Care ), you will complete : A Person-centred approach to working with people with complex pain and symptoms ( 20 credits ), Building a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family in palliative care ( 20 credits ) and Shadows and Horizons : Advancing Palliative Care Practice ( 20 credits ).
To achieve a PgDip Person-centred Practice ( Palliative Care ), you will also complete : Theory and practice of Person-centred Health and Wellbeing ( 20 credits ), Leading Person-centred Practice for Health and Wellbeing ( 20 credits ) and Making Judgements and Decisions in practice ( 20 credits ). To achieve a MSc Person-centred Practice ( Palliative Care ), you will also complete a dissertation ( 60 credits ).
Route 2 : Specific to those requiring clinical assessment and non-medical prescribing as part of their role .
