Nervous
The student is nervous
Her whole body is squirming
Her feet are shaking from side to side
Her fingertips are tapping on her desk
Every minute she changes her position in her chair
Her head is moving
Bobbing up and down
Her mouth is chewing her crimson lips
Her skin is bumpy
Pins and needles on her arms and back
The air around her is fizzing with nervous electricity
Her eyes are looking for a way out.
Forget her body, if you think that's bad
Take a look at what's inside her head.
She’s a wreck
Her stomach has butterflies and cockroaches jumping up and down
There's a fire roasting her ass, she want to jump out of her seat
Her heart goes Thump-thump
Her throat goes gulp gulp
She’s sweaty, she’s scared and her mind is abuzz
Not with though or with distractions
It’s just buzzing, a gray sound
There's nothing
It’s all a blurry gray cement which she can’t seem to dig through
Like a television with no channel
She’s done through, she’s finished
She knows it, she cries
She bites down her tongue and swallows her cries
The student is nervous
There’s a test on the rise
And her brain is a broken television set.
