Hearts That Give, Hands That Serve PRA’ s Journey of Spreading Love Through Outreach
By Aira Villanueva-Vinoya, PRA
There are moments when giving becomes more than an act, it becomes a story, a connection, a lifeline of hope. This year, the Philippine Retailers Association( PRA) and its HR Council embarked on a journey that reminded everyone involved that compassion, when shared, has the power to lift entire communities.
The 2025 PRA Outreach Program embraced two special beneciaries: Kanlungan ni Maria, home to elderly residents in Antipolo, and Nayon ng Kabataan, a safe haven for 147 children in Mandaluyong who continue to dream despite life’ s early challenges.
The generosity from PRA members came swiftly and wholeheartedly. Boxes lled with essentials, gifts, food items, and personal necessities arrived, each donation representing care, hope, and the desire to make someone’ s day just a little brighter.
Guided and supported by PRA President and Golden ABC President and CEO, Ms. Alice Liu, the
PRA Secretariat personally visited the elderly of Kanlungan ni Maria on December 4. The atmosphere was warm and tender and the residents welcomed the team with gratitude and songs, simple melodies that echoed stories of resilience, loss, and enduring faith.
The next day, December 5, PRA members and partner companies came together at Nayon ng Kabataan. The energy shifted to laughter and excitement as teams interacted with the children, playing games, sharing stories, and oering gifts. For a moment, the 147 children were reminded that they are seen, valued, and deeply cared for. Many of them held onto their gifts with wide smiles, but it was the shared moments of connection that left the deepest impression on everyone involved.
PRA Secretary General Ms. BM Miranda, along with HR Council Chairman Mr. Jon Ortiz and Co-Chairwoman Ms. Zeny Camahalan, reected that the heart of outreach lies not in what is given, but in the message, it carries that hope
still shines, that kindness still exists, and that no one is forgotten.
As PRA continues its mission, its promise remains the same: to bring light, dignity, and joy … one life at a time.
