The stadium represents the nature of the nation , showcasing the beauty of the desert landscape in Qatar , as well as some of the more notable animals and plants in the country . The stadium was built on an existing stadium site , and used more than 80 % of the original construction materials . Additionally , the trees and nature surrounding the site were retained and integrated into the planning .
