Castrisos hands over Golf Queensland chair reins
Golf Queensland Chair Peter Castrisos has stepped
down from the Board of Golf Queensland after serving
nine years’ as a Director of the State association.
The move came following his successful election
onto the Board of Golf Australia. Following Peter’s
resignation, the Board of Golf Queensland voted David
Brett as Chair.
David is a member of the Redland Bay Golf Club and
Head of Corporate and Corporate Property Qld at the
National Australia Bank Limited. He has been a member
of the Golf Queensland Board since 2012.
Peter Castrisos has played a key role in the development
of Golf Queensland since having been part of the
inaugural Board established in 2007.
In his first official business as Chair, David paid tribute
to Peter’s work for the industry and organisation.
“Peter has contributed countless hours of his time and
expertise to the Queensland golf industry,”
Mr Brett said.
“During his time with Golf Queensland, and particularly
as Chair, he has been a strong advocate for bringing the
Queensland golf industry together through reinforcing
and cementing our relationships with key stakeholders
including Districts and Clubs.”
“Further to this, he enhanced Golf Queensland’s
services and operations through new initiatives such as
the Club Support and Development Program,”
Mr Brett continued.
“And significantly, he was the driving force behind the
re-establishment of the Queensland Open tournament
after a five year absence from the Queensland
golfing calendar.”
“On behalf of the Board and staff of Golf Queensland I
would like to thank Peter for his support and wish him
the best in his new role at Golf Australia.”
Peter joins the Golf Australia Board after also serving as
