Gary Player Classic

Queensland Men’s Stroke Play

The 2012 Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club concluded with James
Macklin (Nudgee) winning the 15 and Under Division, Viraat Badhwar
(Indooroopilly) taking out the 16-17-Year Old Division and Taylor
Macdonald (Redcliffe) successful in the 18-20-Year-Old Division.

Dimitrios Papadatos (Moore Park Golf Club) won the 2012
Queensland Men’s Stroke Play Championship at Southport Golf Club
on the Gold Coast. Papadatos’s four round total of 273 (-11) was
enough to give him his first Queensland Stroke Play Championship
victory. Overnight joint leader Taylor Macdonald (Nudgee) took
outright second.

Queensland Women’s Stroke Play
Hayley Bettencourt (Mandurah Country Club) led all the way in the
2012 Queensland Women’s Stroke Play Championship to record a
294 total and a 6-shot victory. Bettencourt held off an early final day
charge from fellow Western Australian, Whitney Hillier, who finished
second.

Keperra Bowl
Brady Watt (Royal Perth Golf Club) won the 2012 Keperra Bowl at
the Keperra Country Golf Club. It was Watt’s consistency all week
which secured this year’s Championship and his first major win on
the National Amateur golfing calendar. Indooroopilly member Viraat
Badhwar finished five shots back from Watt to take out second place.

Hayley Bettencourt (Mandurah) has added the Queensland
Women’s Amateur title to her Stroke Play Championship won earlier
in the week at Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club. After a tight
battle with Ali Orchard (Surfers Paradise), Bettencourt took out the
title, with Orchard finishing runner up.
Jake McLeod (Hills International) has won a battle of attrition to take
home the 2012 Queensland Men’s Amateur Championship at Pacific
Harbour Golf and Country Club. After an intense play-off with Luke
Humphries (Pymble), McLeod secured the victory after holing a onemetre putt.

Gertrude McLeod Winners Event
In Damp overcast conditions Katrina Jones (Wantima), Janet
McLaughlin (Horton Park) and Lauris Webber (Keperra) have won
their respective divisions at the 2012 Gertrude McLeod Winners
Event held at the Carbrook Golf Club.

Men’s Inter-Association
The Darling Downs District has taken out the 2012 Men’s Inter
Association Team’s Event at City Golf Club with a commanding six shot
victory. The team of Anthony Timms, Nigel Weldon, Justin Shine and
Troy Neville combined beautifully to shoot a team score of 205 and
hold off the fast finishing Gold Coast District.
