Local dentist Mark Zavialov has recently won the Longreach championship, for the second time.
Nicknamed the ‘Tooth Fairy’ by president Mick Tanks, Zavialov beat long-standing champion Greg
Swan who until three years ago had won the title 22 years in succession.
Zavialov, who plays off a handicap of two and regularly drives the ball more than 320 metres, was
the first to break the Swan stranglehold in 2011 before local Ben Emmott - a schoolboy boarding in
Brisbane at the time - won in 2012. Swan regained the championship last year.
