From the Editor’s Desk Welcome to the Autumn edition of Q-Golf Online Last month was definitely a highlight for Queensland golf. Topping the list was the reinvigorated Queensland Open returning as the state’s premium Championship. With the support of naming rights sponsor Isuzu and partners Brookwater Golf and Country Club, Ipswich City Council, the PGA Tour of Australasia and Golf Queensland the Championship made its comeback to the calendar. The commitment made by the many supporters to get the Isuzu Queensland Open back up and running after a six year break was well noted by all who attended the event. Support by Tourism and Events Queensland, Coca-Cola Amatil, Windsor Income Protection, Channel 9, Rent-aSign, St George Bank, ATS, Drummond Golf, Srixon and PBS ensured the 2013 Championship was a great success. We believe this is just the start of the Isuzu Queensland Open. It’s not just the professionals featuring in the top spots but many amateurs are making an impression on the world stage. Tony Meyer, Golf Queensland’s Head Coach, recently returned from a trip to the US for Golf Australia’s National Camp which included four Queenslander’s who all benefited greatly from the experience. There’s plenty more happening in the state so happy reading. See you on the golf course! Happy golfing, Claire Power In this issue we focus on the recent success Queenslander’s have made on tour and the emerging talent on the cusp of making it. Many may not have heard of Bronson La’Cassie, but the former Gailes Golf Club member recently took out a win on the Web.com
