From the Editor’s Desk Welcome to the Autumn edition of Q-Golf Online The wealth of talent coming through the Queensland ranks is remarkable. As David Newbery has scribed in this edition of Q-Golf Online we certainly seem to have the “knack of producing top-class golfers”. Leading the charge is no other than Karrie Webb who claimed the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters last month making her one of the country’s greatest golfers. Karrie has probably singlehandedly encouraged thousands of women to take up the game of golf. I’m sure seeing her back in the winner’s circle at the Ladies Masters was a thrill for many. Queensland’s amateur golfers have also been shining. In the space of a couple of months we have seen eight young golfers from our State win major amateur championships around the country. An amazing feat that we are not shy to promote! Golf Queensland actively promotes the fact that golf is a game for everyone. It is one sport that allows for many to participate in. Ben Tullipan is one person who doesn’t let his disability get in the way of a game of golf. Bernie Pramberg caught up with Ben and gives us a snapshot of how a bit of hard work pays off. Sometimes the best medicine is being told you can’t so something. That way you can prove them wrong. It has been a wet start to the year, with many golf clubs around the State affected by the adverse weather conditions.
