Advance Placement ( AP )
We encourage all college-bound students to participate in at least one AP exam prior to graduating high school . 612 high school students participated in 1,174 AP exams in areas of Social Studies , Math , Science , Language Arts , World Language , Performing Arts , and Computer Science . AP test scores are reported on a 5-point scale from 1 ( low ) to 5 ( high ). A score of a 3 or higher on an AP exam indicates the student as considered " qualified ," having understood and executed the material to the point where they could earn college credit .

Scholastic Aptitude Test ( SAT ) The SAT is an entrance exam used by colleges and universities to measure a high school student ' s readiness for college . The SAT provides a common data point comprised of two sections : Evidence-Based Reading and Writing ( ERW ) and Math . The chart to the right depicts the average scores for the PVSD Class of 2021 ( orange ), state average scores ( green ), and national average scores ( blue ) for ERW and Math .
SAT Reporting : Due to circumstances of the pandemic and scheduling challenges , the Class of 2021 was given the option of reporting SAT scores as part of their college application . For the first time , SAT score submissions were not required .

National Occupational Competency Testing Institute ( NOCTI ) The NOCTI is a series of assessments for students studying career and technical programs . Our students participate in these programs at North Montco Technical Career Center ( NMTCC ). 37 students were assessed in their field of study . Areas of assessment included horticulture , carpentry , culinary arts , collision repair , computer science and technology , cosmetology , health assistance , homeland security , retail , and welding .
