In a Year Shaped By The Pandemic ...
The Perkiomen Valley School District ' s vision statement is Innovative Teaching for Life Long Learning . Throughout the 20-21 school year , in response to circumstances of the pandemic , the District remained committed to the vision while engaging students in very different ways . At the beginning of the year , all students started class in a virtual mode . As the fall progressed , we systematically shifted to a hybrid model where elementary students attended half day onsite and half day virtual , 5 days per week . Secondary students were afforded a hybrid schedule , attending school onsite 2-3 days per 6-day cycle and virtual through Zoom the remaining days . There was a continued effort to increase onsite , in-person learning experiences as conditions permitted . In March 2021 , the District shifted back to a fully onsite , inperson model . Families continued to be provided the choice of a fully virtual mode , if desired . Our athletic teams competed throughout the year , although at times with limited spectators . Our music and performance programs also continued , offering virtual viewing or outdoor options for audiences .
