Nicholas Caradoc Hoult RISING STAR Awards Nick has been nominated for awards such as British Academy Award, and Critics Choice Award. In 2010, Hoult was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, voted on by the British public. Other nominations include a Walkers Home Grown Talent Award. His middle name “Caradoc” means “the beloved one” in Welsh. He is greatly inspired by Muhammad Ali and sleeps under a poster of the champ. His great-aunt Dame Anna Neagle was one of the most popular actresses of the 1930s. alongside Hugh Grant in About a Boy (2002), for which he won several nominations and awards. In 2005, he starred in his first American film  The Weather Man as Nicolas Cage’s son. Nick was just three when a director spotted him watching his brother in a play, and remarked on the child’s ability to concentrate. At age 17, he received recognition for starring as Tony Stonem in the BAFTA-awarded British teen drama series Skins (2007) for two seasons until 2008. Later he played the role of Kenny Potter in the Oscar-nominated film  A Single Man (2009) after being discovered by director Tom Ford. He was also chosen as one of the models for Tom Ford’s eyewear campaign. Soon, the talented little Hoult kickstarted his career with dramas such as Casualty and The Bill. When he was in the sixth grade, he landed an important role in E4’s ground breaking youth drama, Skins. He has never looked back. Nick attended the reputed Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. He practised ballet along with his sisters and was involved in productions of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker with the national ballet.
