Quarterly Update by Kyle Nix
Houston just recorded its hottest summer of all time, but the
heat did not slow the PVF YP’s down! The group hosted or
participated in several different events and thanks to the
support of our sponsors and the PVF industry, all were a tremendous success.
The PVF YP’s Hosted our annual Pros Knows event prior to the PVF Roundtable Q3 Networking Event on August 8th. The event is designed to educate those who are new to our PVF industry or current students who want more clarity on how the oil and gas industry is organized. We thank our presenters – Max Casada (P66) - Robert Nunn (MRC Global) - Joe Pro (Pennsylvania Machine Works) - Trace Scrivner (Exxon Mobil)—for their educational and entertaining presentations, even pointing out that chickens are also impacted by the PVF industry!
For our annual Volunteer Day, the PVF YP’s teamed up with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to host a blood drive at two locations, WOI and Galperti on September 25th. The turnout could not have been better and the amount of donations at both locations a huge success with more donors than last year. Our sincerest gratitude to everyone who donated blood, because of you people we love will be receiving a lifesaving transfusion. And, we had our final YP Happy Hour on November 9th at Highland Park.
