October Dinner Meeting Highlights

The PVF Roundtable hosted its annual Q4 dinner meeting with speaker, Governor Rick Perry.  Over 400 Pipe, Valve, and Fittings top executives and sales teams joined us for an evening discussing how THE WORLD RUNS ON US – ranking 1st in the world for oil consumption.  Governor Perry addressed renewable energy and the biggest impediments to the energy industry today.  He also addressed what we should be doing in situations where the USA and other first world countries are committed to the environment, while China and India still rely on coal fired power plants.  Hot topics included power grid, coal to gas technology, and carbon capture.  Many members enjoyed meet and greet photos with the former Secretary of Energy before dinner commenced, as Gov. Perry tried to meet everyone in the room.

The Roundtable also handed out $350,000 in scholarship donations to 6 trade schools and colleges in attendance to accept these checks.  These donations were proudly raised from sponsorships and record breaking participation in this year's Troutblast and PVF golf tournament.  Ferguson Industrial surprised Sara Alford, President of the PVF Roundtable, again this year with another $25,000 donation toward scholarships to students currently enrolled in PVF fields of study.  Ferguson Industrial’s Mike Jordan, also on the PVF RT Board of Directors, presented Sara with this incredible donation.  “Ferguson Industrial believes in investing in the future of our Industry.

The money we donate helps provide much needed financial assistance and scholarships to many who may not otherwise be able to afford it.  Ferguson is proud to be a member of the PVF Roundtable, we believe in the mission, and are happy to be able to contribute,” Mike stated.
