Let me tell you about the incredible mentor I've had the privilege
of learning from for the past 25 years, Ginger Restovic. Back in 1999,
when I took on a temporary assignment at Newmans Valve, little did
I know it would mark the beginning of a successful career with one
of the leading women in the Oil and Gas industry as my guide.
Ginger was known for running a tight ship with the motto "Lead,
follow, or get out of the way." She made it clear from the start that
she wasn't interested in mentoring followers - she wanted to cultivate leaders. Under her guidance, I learned the importance of being prepared and knowledgeable in every situation.
Ginger's impressive career in the industry began in 1980 at International Manufacturing, where she supported well-known brands like Cooper, Warren, OIC, and Nibco. She played a pivotal role in transitioning the company to OIC (Ohio Injector Company), where she led the charge in establishing it as one of the top valve brands in the industry. When OIC merged with Newmans Valve in 1997, Ginger took on the role of VP of Operations, overseeing the entire company's operations. Her leadership was instrumental in the company's growth and success.
In 2004, when the original owners bought back the company from PCC Technologies, Ginger was appointed as Chief Operating Officer, working alongside key stakeholders to further enhance operational efficiency. She not only had a passion for OIC but also played a crucial role in the success of NEWCO and Cooper brands, making them leading names in the cast and forged steel industry.
Ginger's commitment to the industry extended beyond her professional roles. She has been an active member of the PVF Roundtable's board of directors since 1994, contributing to the growth and development of the organization. Her recent role as Secretary/Treasurer showcased her dedication to supporting the industry and fostering collaboration among industry professionals.
As Ginger steps down from her long tenure as a board member, it's important to acknowledge her immense contribution to the industry. She has been a role model for many, including myself, and I am grateful for the opportunity to not only learn from her but also call her a friend. Join me in expressing our gratitude to Ginger for her years of dedication and unwavering support. Thank you, Ginger, for being the inspiring leader that we all strive to emulate.
