·         San Jacinto College awarded 26 PVFRT scholarships in 2024, with additional funds to be distributed in Spring 2025. ·         Lamar Institute of Technology awarded 28 scholarships in 2024 and reported an 11% increase in enrollment. A prior oversight excluded engineering students from eligibility, but this has now been corrected, expanding opportunities in that field. With a 90% job placement rate post-graduation, PVFRT funds are directly contributing to a stronger workforce.

·         ABC Pelican, with training centers in Baton Rouge and Westlake, LA, awarded 52 scholarships in 2024, with 18 students set to graduate in Spring 2025. While the local job market is currently sluggish, ABC is prepared for an influx of hiring once regional construction projects resume.

·         Lone Star College presented to the Board to be considered as a new partner. With seven campuses in the Houston area and over 91,000 students, the institution expressed a strong interest in receiving PVFRT scholarships for students in PVF-related programs. The Board is currently reviewing this opportunity.

Do PVFRT Scholarships Make a Difference?

Absolutely.

While our scholarships are

awarded locally in South Texas and

Louisiana, their impact reaches far

beyond. These funds empower stud-

ents to enter the workforce, drive

industry growth, and contribute to the

economy.

Scholarship recipients consistently

report that financial support boosts

their motivation, helping them focus

on academics, reduce work hours, and

stay in school. For many, this support is

life-changing.
