Highlights Know Your H2O: New Feature Allows Arlington Customers to Monitor Daily Water Usage The Arlington Water Utilities online account page has a new look and several updated features to let you “Know Your H2O” like never before. For residents with remote read meters, the updated website now includes access to daily water usage totals. Slightly more than half, almost 60,000, of the City’s water meters are already part of the City’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure, or AMI, network, meaning their water meters transmit usage readings remotely, in a safe and secure manner, to the City’s billing system. The installation of remotely read meters is part of a city-wide effort to enhance water meter accuracy and help residents manage water usage. An additional 9,000 remote read meters will be installed each year until all meters in Arlington are remotely read. “In Texas, we know that the next extremely dry summer isn’t a matter of if; it’s a matter of when. That’s why we continue to encourage residents to use water efficiently throughout the year. Being able to track their account daily gives residents control over their water use. It’s an effective way to prevent surprises in your monthly utility bill,” said Craig Cummings, director of Arlington Water Utilities. New Improvements to Digital Library Services at the Arlington Public Library The Arlington Public Library is putting technology to work and making improvements in 2019 to your digital library experience. On Jan. 2, 2019, the following improvements for digital services became available: • New! Log in to My Account at the top of our website to see your account at a glance. See requests, items out, current fees, and edit your preferences in My Account. While your account is currently accessible through our website, we’re excited to make the log in option more visible. • New! Download the Arlington Public Library app in iTunes or the Google Play store. Our new app works as your library card. You can also see your requests, items out, and current fees; access library databases, and scan any book’s barcode to search for it in our catalog. To improve consistency and increase access across all our digital resources the following changes took place in January. • Your library card number must be used to log in to all library resources. Custom usernames will no longer be used to access accounts, public computers, databases, or any other library service. • To access the free public Wi-fi at any location, patrons must agree to our Computer Usage Policy. Staff at any location are ready to help with these transitions. Visit any service desk to reset your PIN/Password, get a replacement library card, or just learn more about the updates.
