orking at iCandy is often a lively affair, whether we are working hard to hit target, busy preparing for a show, or just doing our part to help the company succeed, there is often plenty to keep the mind occupied. Not to mention the fl amboyant nature of our M. D Lord Boyle who ensures we remain focused, but always remember there is a time and place for humour in the workplace.
Last year was no doubt a tremendous year for the iCandy brand as we hit target and won the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade. It was also a very rewarding year for the sheer amount of charity work we got involved with as a brand. One truly inspiring part of working at iCandy has been the amazing commitment to charity work, and a desire to raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’ s Hospital.
The relationship with the charity has since grown to become a key part of life for many staff members, and we hope everyone is aware of the extraordinary opportunities available to get involved with the charity.
When the last edition of Push Magazine arrived, we had just finished the fi rst ever iCandy Triathlon, and were sitting on a very impressive amount of money totalling 40k. In the fi nal quarter of the year we were not content with raising 40k alone, we endeavoured to hit the 50k mark and meet the halfway point of our ambitious 100k target.
With the fearless skydive now completed, and the Triathlon proving iCandy’ s swansong fundraiser for the summer, Autumn arrived and with it the dreaded change of weather as the leaves started to fall and the dark days closed in.

It was an amazing experience to run my fi rst marathon on Sunday. A lot of work went in over the past few months and there were a few nights where I contemplated giving training a miss. However when I thought of the reason I was running the marathon, for GOSH, it gave me the extra motivation to get the gear on and get the training done.
Sunday morning was strange as I was feeling excited, nervous, apprehensive, and even relieved that the day had fi nally arrived. The marathon was a lot more enjoyable than I thought and thankfully I didn’ t hit the infamous wall! One marathon done, not considering doing a second …. For now!
