2016 was most defi nitely a vintage year for iCandy as we enjoyed a very successful awards season, with the iCandy Peach once more leading the line for iCandy. With only four awards remaining after the previous edition of Push, we hoped to fi nish the year with a champagne fi nish and crown a remarkable 2016 with one last flurry. As the year came to a close, Ireland took centre stage as we were nominated for honours at two of the most significant awards, which are of critical importance to the brand as we attempt to grow our presence even further in Ireland. Firstly, we prepared for the Mums and Tots awards, competing for the honour of best pushchair.
Unfortunately, the Mums and Tots awards category for the best pushchair had been dominated throughout the last fi ve years by one of our main rivals in the pushchair market( they begin with a B). However, 2016 marked a turning point as we wrestled away the title for the best pushchair, and became the fi rst brand in quite some time to achieve this feat. Our reliable Apple 2 Pear impressed a number of Irish parents, bringing home the top prize in what is a monumental achievement for iCandy in the Irish market.
Such awards truly demonstrates the substantial progress iCandy is making within the emerald isle. For those attending the shows in Dublin, letting consumers know about our success in such awards may help sway a parents mind, such is the impact these awards can have for those who remain undecided.
Further evidence of our growing presence in Ireland was cemented during the annual National Parenting Awards, when we once again took home the honour of best pushchair, this time for our iconic Peach pushchair. With both the Apple 2 Pear and Peach winning best pushchair awards, we have the perfect opportunity in 2017 to capitalise on the momentum generated in Ireland.
Meanwhile, iCandy awards mainstay Strawberry secured silver in the National Parenting Awards, whilst the Emilia changing bag took home bronze for best changing bag.
