The Perfect Fit Seniors Accepted into Unique College Programs Here are a few examples of CPA students finding their “perfect fit” for college ADAM CASSERI JEFFREY SERAPHINE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM AT BAYLOR WINSHAPE COLLEGE PROGRAM AT BERRY COLLEGE Adam was selected as a University Scholar at Baylor University, a program that accepts less than 2% of the university’s entering freshmen. Adam’s unique academic gifts, well-rounded nature, and intrinsic motivation made him an excellent candidate for this program. Jeffrey will be entering the WinShape College Program at Berry College. This program meets Jeffrey’s personal desire to connect with students and campus leaders who are devoted to intentionally living out their identity in Christ. Members of the program focus on developing disciples, creating community, and launching leaders to impact every generation. CARLEY SIDBERRY BURNETT HONORS COLLEGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA MAGGIE SMITH Carley will be entering the University of Central Florida as a Burnett Medical Scholar. This honor guarantees her a spot in UCF’s College of Medicine M.D. Program. Carley has a passion to serve in the medical field and met the university’s stringent requirements for acceptance into the program. CROFT INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES AT JANIE HUBBARD INGRAM SCHOLAR AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY The Ingram Scholars at Vanderbilt University are selected on the basis of commitment to community service, strength of personal character, and leadership potential. As an Ingram Scholar, Janie will not only volunteer for community service but also design and implement projects that address significant community needs and become self-sustaining. 18 SEPTEMBER 2017 THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI The Croft Institute for International Studies at The University of Mississippi is looking for students who think outward, who want to “transcend the horizons of their local community, their region, and the nation as a whole — and to learn about the world beyond our borders.” Maggie wrote fluently in order to prove these interests and demonstrated that interest in her time at CPA. She graduated with 7 Foreign Language credits (4 in Latin, 2 in Chinese, 1 in Spanish), thus earning the Foreign Language department award; she also studied Korean independently and attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for International Studies.
