From the Board of Trustees F ollowing the outstanding leadership of past Chair Matt King and with an outstanding Board of Trustees, my first year as Chair proved to be incredibly rewarding seeing the progress made and the lives impacted by our Academy. We sadly lost two of our key leaders from the Board over the past year, Al Manuel and Gary Scudder. We are so grateful for their contributions and support of this ministry. From a leadership standpoint, I believe we have the strongest administrators and educators as we ever have, led so capably by Head of School Nate Morrow along with Associate Head of School – Education Dr. Marcia Sutton, Associate Head of School–Advancement Drew Maddux, and Associate Head of School–Operations Matt Moore. This past year, Nate and his leadership team along with the Board of Trustees set forth a vision for what our Academy would need to fulfill its mission for the future. Part of that was in changes and additions to our grounds and facilities, where a much needed performing arts complex will be built, along with a reshaping of the campus to allow for students a central place on campus to congregate. With the Academy starting from a foundation of no debt on the facilities, Nate has presented CPA families the opportunity to invest in our DANNY HERRON Chair, CPA Board of Trustees future and so far, there has been over $12.5 million in gifts and pledges raised on our way to a goal of $18 million! This year, we also placed an emphasis on what the “portrait of a CPA graduate” is. As a CPA graduate, he or she is to be deeply and happily rooted in a local church, dedicated to developing skills for the future, giving special attention to those less fortunate, and preparing to converse and espouse the faith with other believers, seekers, and skeptics. I see daily examples of such attributes in the current lives of our students, which is so encouraging. 2018-19 CPA BOARD OF TRUSTEES Danny Herron (Chair) John Arndt Steve Akers Bob Bradshaw Hunter Connelly David Crenshaw Joda Foster Mary Lisa Gingras Mark Hogan The fruits of all the efforts of our teachers, administrators, and parents are seen through the recognition in our community of the accomplishments and the positive impact made by our students. We feel so blessed to be a part of God’s work in the growth and development of the Academy. Jason Hubbard We have growing challenges from the rapidly changing culture that keep us sharply focused on our critical mission. We ask for your continued involvement and support as we step forward in faith to build future leaders. It is our prayer that these future leaders will be called upon to nourish this community and to further God’s kingdom. Thank you for your partnership and support in this mission.
