A
t CPA Preschool, our Pre-K 5
students have freedom to be who
they are at each developmental
stage, and at the same time, these
young Lions are challenged to grow into the
people God created them to be. They prepare for
kindergarten in countless ways every day.
Spiritually, the students study God’s word
and learn what His word means in applicable
ways. They worship together and discover les-
sons in Bible stories. Most important, they are
learning about God as their Creator. They truly
begin to understand God’s love and how Jesus
came to save us.
Emotional development is a strong indicator
of success in kindergarten and in life! Students
learn about being a friend and how to name all
of those big feelings inside. The students begin
to speak up for themselves and for their friends.
We teach how to show gratitude and kindness
to others, and one of the highlights of the year
is Preschool Service Week when we travel the
campus thanking and serving others. Our deep-
ly invested teachers support and facilitate social
and emotional learning as they help students
become more independent. The students, even
at this young age, begin to grasp the concept of
personal responsibility as they are taught how to
care for themselves and others.
Academically, it is inspiring to watch the
learning happening everywhere. In the class-
room, students engage in reading, writing, and
math skills through large and small group,
hands-on experiences, all the while building up
endurance as they partic ipate in a busy class-
room community.
At our Preschool Celebration in May, we
know these students are ready, but oh, how we
will miss them!
