never let go of, so we still go to gigs together
for small and big bands weekly.
Could you give me some insight in to your
songwriting process?
Billy usually will come up with the chords,
melody and lyrics and take it to the rest of the
band. We then work on structure, add riffs and
instrumental parts until it’s the final track we
take to the studio.
The latest track “Lose My Mind”, is
available to stream on Soundcloud where
else can our readers check out your music?
We have a YouTube channel and we’re also on
Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Play, Deezer, Google
Music and the rest of them.
What do you do outside of Bel Esprit?
We’re all uni students studying in our second
or third years. We’re hoping after University
we can commit to this full time.
Who are your favourite bands/artists at the
moment?
There are some great small bands killing it at
the moment. Circa Waves, Wolf Alice,
Superfood, Leon Bridges, As Elephants Are,
the list is endless. The new Cribs stuff is
sounding great too.
What are Bel Esprit’s 2015 goals?
We want to put out as much music and play as
many live shows as possible this year.
Hopefully continue from last year and play a
few more festivals too.
Anything else you would like to say?
Thanks to Pure M for this interview. Check us
out on Facebook, Twitter and Spotify and keep
up to date with us, we’re going to be putting
out a lot of new stuff this year.
