‘ Hot oils ’ such as Cassia , Cinnamon , Clove , Eucalyptus , Oregano , and Thyme are some oils that must be diluted with a carrier oil before applying topically . When trying these for the first time , consider a dilution ratio of one drop of essential oil to 10 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil .
When using an essential oil on your skin for the first time , it ’ s a good idea to dilute with a carrier oil to see how the oil reacts with your skin . Start with one drop of essential oil and five drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil . You can personalise this ratio with time and experience .
Some essential oils can cause photosensitivity , which means that you may be more prone to sunburn . Refrain from exposure to UV light ( sunlight or tanning beds ) for at least 12 hours after applying them to your skin . These oils include Lemon , Wild Orange , Bergamot , Lime , Grapefruit , or other citrus oils .
