Brining your pet around town Once pets are ready to make their public debut , pack them a bag of all the things they will need when they are out : treats , a water bowl , bottle of water , something to keep them entertained ( Nylabone or toy ), and a serving of food if they will not be home for dinner time . Once out , remain attentive to cues that your dog may seem uncomfortable or overwhelmed , and remove them from the situation if needed . They may just need to go on a walk or be temporarily removed from the area , but if they are seriously stressed out , you may want to consider heading home .
Remember , Rome was not built in a day . Your pup will not instantly love strangers if they didn ’ t before . Just like training , socializing a pet takes work , dedication , and time .
