I ’ m going to level with you . This way of thinking is going to feel uncomfortable for many of you . It ’ s going to feel dirty or unprincipled or “ off ” or like I ’ m suggesting we do “ the wrong things ” to acquire and hold power and influence the culture . But you are the last line of defense against a party that has proven it can -- and will -- callously do untold damage to America , watch soullessly as Americans struggle and even die , and who have no respect for the laws and institutions that once made this nation an admired leader across much of the world . I don ’ t believe we should , for example , actively attempt to disenfranchise voters like our opponents do . I don ’ t believe we should threaten the lives of elected officials ( although I ’ d be really happy to threaten their livelihoods ). But we ought to use every morally justifiable strategy and tactic to ensure that harmful people don ’ t get into positions of power where they can codify their psychopathy and damage our nation and its people any further .
In fact , I would say the American Left has a moral obligation to prevent conservatives from taking positions of power and to do everything possible to remove from power those who are already seated . Why ? Because the data is clear – when they have power , everyday Americans suffer , die , and lose their chance at life , Iiberty and the pursuit of happiness .
