OF THE MANY ASPECTS OF THE SPA EXPERIENCE that were transformed last year with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic , perhaps no element underwent more of an overhaul than the way in which retail sales were conducted . Many spas quickly established curbside pickup options for guests and hosted virtual treatments and product demonstrations to encourage the proper continuation of spa routines at home . Resource partners worked creatively with spas to manage the load , in many cases offering previously rare options such as drop shipping to keep sales moving . When spas reopened , they frequently did so with restrictions in place that made traditional retail displays and consultations a challenge . But now that those restrictions are easing in many places , spas must once again consider how best to approach the question of retail sales .
