2018 ISPA U.S. Spa
Industry Study:
Steady Growth Continues
CALL IT CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST. After diving deep
into the statistics shared by participants, Pricewaterhouse
Coopers (PwC) unveiled the 2018 ISPA U.S. Spa Industry Study
“Big Five” statistics at the ISPA East Coast Media Event last
month.
Now in its 19th year, the ISPA U.S. Industry Study is
conducted on behalf of the ISPA Foundation and looks at five
key areas: total industry revenue, spa visits, revenue per visit,
the number of spa locations and employee counts. These
figures combine to tell us a lot about the health of the spa
industry.
Findings showed continued spa industry growth, with
revenue reaching a record high $17.5 billion in 2017 — a 4.3
percent year-over-year increase. n
