20 We wandered around Batuan marveling at the traditional paintings, faithfully depicting religious and mythological subjects, which were for temple and palace decoration, and the set colors were made from soot, clay and pigs' bones. Following this, we made our way to the active volcano. Since the weather turned bad, we couldn't take our time exploring the site. We went to a nearby restaurant for lunch, which gave us a breathtaking view. As the evening approached, it started to rain, we stopped by a tea and coffee estate. Here, we tried 6 delicious varieties of Tea and 2 varieties of Coffee. As lovers of Coffee and Tea, we were in seventh heaven! All set to Jet ski. We ended our day with a trip to Tirta Empul, one of Bali’s most famous water temples. Balinese visit this temple to bathe in the pools of healing water, queuing on the left side and washing underneath each of the 30 spouts until reaching the end of the second pool. The Kintamani district is the earliest known kingdom in Bali, dating from the tenth century On our way to the volcano, we visited the Batubulan village which is renowned for its hand printed dresses known as Batik. Next, we stopped over at Mas village famous for its wood carvings. Bali is a city where you can find beautiful wooden items at minimal cost, and for cat lovers, you have some amazing collection of cats carved in wood. The next village we paid a visit to was Celuk, Bali’s major center for goldsmiths and silversmiths. The gold and silver items crafted here are of high quality and feature unique and elaborate designs as the craftsmen are known for their skills and their industriousness.
