Costco Land Sale
On March 9, the Governmental Finance Corporation( GFC) approved a purchase and sale agreement with Costco Wholesale for 22.8 +/- acres of land in Southern Grove. Costco is proposing to build a 170,000-square-foot retail store and gas station on the land, which is located adjacent to the distribution depot currently under construction. The agreement allows Costco to move forward with its plans to build a new retail store in Southern Grove.
Celebrate Our 65th Birthday
Celebrate Port St. Lucie’ s 65th anniversary on Saturday, April 25, from 5-8 p. m. at The Port District, 2454 SW Westmoreland Blvd. This free community celebration features the Naturally PSL Environmental Stewardship Awards, food trucks, a live band, children’ s activities and opportunities to meet and interact with City staff. Guests can explore the history of Port St. Lucie, share and film their own PSL stories and much more. Admission is free.
Shore Stabilization Project
Shore stabilization along the E-8 canal began a new phase in March. Crews will start placing rocks along the canal bank. Construction will continue through the summer, weather permitting. It marks a significant milestone in the City’ s efforts to safeguard neighborhood infrastructure and improve water management. During construction, all lanes on SW Tampico Street adjacent to the canal, between Harrison Avenue and Aaron Lane, will be temporarily closed.
Parks Projects
The Preserve at The Port District, 2454 SW Westmoreland Blvd., opened with a ribbon-cutting March 4 to celebrate the new trail system. There are also scenic boardwalk connects and nature overlooks along a wetland area. Visit CityofPSL. com / PSLinProgress to learn more.
The Rosser Lakes preserve is now open. Located along Rosser Boulevard, just south of Gatlin Boulevard and east of Interstate 95, the preserve offers visitors a chance to enjoy canoeing or kayaking, fishing from the shoreline or enjoying trails for hiking or biking. The nearly 105 acres were once planned for homes, but the City acquired them through the Naturally PSL Land Bank, an initiative focused on conserving and activating land throughout Port St. Lucie.
Construction at Duck Court Park, 452 SW Rad Court, began in January and will feature shaded pergolas, a decorative three-tier fountain, ADA-accessible picnic tables and benches, bike racks, improved sidewalks and a paved walking and biking path. Construction is expected to last approximately six to seven months, with the park anticipated to open later in 2026.
Construction on Wilderness Trail, situated between Westmorland Boulevard, Cambridge Drive and Morningside Boulevard, began Feb. 4 and includes a 10-foot-wide concrete trail, a pavilion and restroom, benches and approximately 2.1 miles of trail. It is expected to be completed in August.

The City of Port St. Lucie’ s Love Your Block mini-grants program is back for a second year, inviting residents to bring their ideas to life and make a lasting difference in the Whispering Pines community. The Love Your Block mini-grants program supports small-scale neighborhood projects that promote community pride, safety and beautification. Applications close March 31.
