Easter activities are on tap this month, with the Easter Bunny Breakfast taking place Friday, April 18 at the Community Center and the Eggstravaganza being held Saturday, April 19 at Whispering Pines Park.
The quarterly Before You Sign the Lease workshop will be taking place April 22 from 11:30 a. m. to 1 p. m. at Building B training room on the City Hall campus.
The final event in our 2025 concert series will take place Friday, April 11 with country music sensation Cooper Alan on the main stage.
The last River Nights of the season will also happen in April. Palm Beach Country will take the stage from 5:30-8:30 p. m. on the Event Lawn at The Port District on Thursday, April 10.
Accomplishments
We received some very positive news from Moody’ s Investor Services. Moody’ s upgraded the bond rating for the City and our water and sewer enterprise. They also affirmed the rating on the City’ s stormwater revenue bonds. These ratings reflect Moody’ s confidence in Port St. Lucie’ s financial management, sound fiscal policies and long-term stability.
The application period for the City’ s first Love Your Block program closed March 30. A total of 32 applications were received. Grants of up to $ 1,500 are available for residents in the Whispering Pines neighborhood to use on projects such as small-scall repairs, beautification efforts, safety improvements and more. The selected projects and activities will be announced on April 22.
Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful’ s annual Caring Community Cleanup Day was held Saturday, April 5 and was another incredible success. Nearly 1,700 pounds of litter was collected by 245 volunteers at the cleanup. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to pick up litter at locations throughout the City!
The Business Accelerator Program spring course was a success, with 36 businesses attending. Twelve of those participants applied for small business reimbursement grants of up to $ 5,000, for a total of $ 60,000 in grant funding going to Port St. Lucie businesses.
The City has won a 2025 Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Award from the National Association of Government Communicators for community engagement at the Port St. Lucie International Festival. We will learn if we won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place among entries from across the country on May 21.
