IF YOU HAPPEN TO FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA , you know that I am an avid poster . You may have even come across the photo below , which captured a wonderful moment of joy and togetherness between me and three incredible spa directors at Montage and Pendry ’ s company-wide leadership summit in San Diego , California . The moment was especially sweet because it was captured in the midst of an event that had been originally scheduled for April of 2020 .
Over the last 18 months or so , it has been the moments like these — little gems in time that are rarer than we would like yet beautiful to behold — that have so often sustained us . These moments of teamwork , support and collaboration have reinforced our closest bonds and seen our industry through some of the most challenging times it has ever faced . On that gorgeous night we spent soaking in the atmosphere of the ballpark and talking ( though not about baseball ), I was reminded repeatedly of the power of these opportunities to share our thoughts , our time and more than a few laughs together .
At ISPA , we ’ ve used technological innovations to bring the ISPA community together throughout the pandemic , and we know from the level of engagement we ’ re seeing at our Town Halls and other virtual events that our industry remains hungry for connection . Like so many others , we ’ re eagerly awaiting the day when we can once again connect in person . In the meantime , continue to put your arms around your teams — whether it happens at the end of a three-game series between the Padres and the Dodgers or on a video chat . Continue to celebrate each other and find support and joy in your togetherness . Reach out to that industry colleague you ’ ve been meaning to check in with . In these uncertain times , the value of that support cannot be underestimated .
