Spa locations were also up by 1.8 percent, revenue per visit was up 3.0 percent and total employees up 1.6 percent over this same period. Diving in further to the employment numbers, the number of full-time employees is estimated to have risen by 0.6 percent, with part-time employees slightly faster at 2.6 percent and new hires adding 4,600 part-time jobs to the workforce. the number of independent contractors remained mostly the same (0.4 percent), which is a contrast to the numbers from 2007 onwards which showed a steady reduction for this segment of the workforce. one in four spas said they had increased staffing levels in the last six months compared to the same period in the previous year.
