DO YOU REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY when Pulse had “ Relish ” on the last page , where members shared recipes with one another ? I always really loved that !
I don ’ t know about you , but I have loved polishing my culinary skills this past year . Recently , ISPA Past Chairman Michael Tompkins asked our community for their favorite dessert recipe via social media , and he
Exchanging recipes is one of Lynne ’ s treasured pastimes . Give these favorites a try !
“ Collaboration is a core value of ISPA and the spa industry , and we are grateful for that and know it is a recipe for success .” received an abundance of super fun — though definitely not low calorie — responses . I also often exchange recipes with my friend — and another ISPA Past Chairman — Jane Segerberg . Jane is an avid cookbook reader and loves to edit them and make them her own by writing in the margins before she sends me her favorites . I love that so much , and I always make the recipes Jane sends me . I recently returned the favor by sending her a recipe for Bloody Mary Chili that is a staple in our house . Experimenting with new recipes and techniques is a hobby of mine , so much so that on my family ’ s Sunday Zoom calls , I share what I have prepped for the week and my sweet mother always replies with “ you ’ re so innovative ”— that makes me happy .
These exchanges of culinary knowledge remind me of how generous the ISPA community is in sharing their knowledge with each other . I know firsthand that this openness is unique to the spa industry . Working for an association management company that manages a dozen other associations across many industries has shown me that our industry ’ s collective spirit is not especially common . Collaboration is a core value of ISPA and the spa industry , and we are grateful for that and know it is a recipe for success . Speaking of recipes , I ’ ve shared a couple favorites . We would love it if you would share yours too . Who knows — maybe we can bring “ Relish ” back ! ■
