EARLIER THIS YEAR , the ISPA team and their trusted research partners at PriceWaterhouseCoopers ( PwC ) crafted the 2021 ISPA U . S . Spa Industry Study , carefully considering the types of data that would be most useful to provide to an industry hit so hard by the pandemic . A lot of work goes into delivering this kind of high-quality research to ISPA members , but without the participation of hundreds of spa leaders who oversee thousands of individual locations , none of it would be possible . So , to everyone who took the time to complete this year ’ s U . S . Spa Industry Study survey : Thank you ! There has never been a time when understanding the state of our industry has been more critical , and thanks to the incredible response to this year ’ s survey , ISPA members can once again look forward to a hugely informative results report later this year .
This month , attendees of the ISPA Stronger Together Summit will get an exclusive preview of those results when the so-called Big Five statistics — industry revenue , spa visit , spa locations , revenue per visit and total industry employees — are presented at a Knowledge Builder Session featuring representatives from PwC . During the session , the Big Five will be revealed for the first time , and participants will provide initial analysis of the data ’ s significance and discuss the spa industry ’ s path forward .
Of course , the Stronger Together Summit isn ’ t the only exciting event the ISPA community should have its eyes on this month . The 2021 ISPA Foundation Spring Auction is open for bidding from May 4 – 11 using the Handbid app ( available from the Apple App Store or Google Play ), and donations of auction items will be accepted through May 7 . The ISPA Foundation puts 100 percent of proceeds from events like the Spring Auction to fund research such as the ISPA U . S . Spa Industry Study , as well as scholarships and other initiatives that benefit the ISPA community . I know I ’ m eager to see how the ISPA Foundation can continue to support that community .
