Our ISPA community is full of diverse talents and inspiring stories, all working towards the same goal: a healthier world. Meet Kristi Russ SPA MANAGER • THE SPA AT PRONGHORN • BEND, OREGON WITH OVER 11 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE DAY, RESORT AND MEDICAL SPA INDUSTRIES, Kristi russ has a proven track record and licenses in three states to back it all up. Pulse is honored to feature a bit of her story, which can be found in full on peopleofISPa.com. “after battling severe acne throughout my adolescent years and even undergoing accutane,” recalls Kristi, “I was given the surprising opportunity to receive medical grade chemical peels to fight my problematic skin while serving in the military. During my four-year stint in the United States coast Guard, I was allowed to receive such treatments off-site at an approved dermatology practice in town. I was seeing results and finally understanding the depth (literally) one can take to achieve their skin care goals. Once I completed my four-year service commitment, I knew I wanted to dive deeper into the understanding of skin care. I didn’t waste any time and quickly enrolled in a beauty college in concord, california, and received my Esthetics License.” Kristi would go on to run a cosmetic laser training facility and start an esthetic school in central Oregon. Despite these accomplishments, ultimately culmi- nating in the re-opening of The Spa at Pronghorn, the “cherry on top” for Kristi is her love and devotion to her four-year- old son, Jaxon. amid all her responsibilities and ambitions, she makes time for him above everything else in the world. “I am proud and honored to say I have had many various accomplishments in life thus far; from being able to say I am a Veteran, to serving on the Oregon Board of certified advanced Estheticians. above all, my proudest accomplishment in life has been becoming a mother. Since becoming a mother, my drive to provide for my son and myself is far stronger than I ever anticipated. Bike riding in the summer and snow skiing in the winter are our favorite activities to do together. my son is an active little boy and we jump into everything 110 percent from kayaking, rock collecting, trail hiking, horseback riding to floating the river.” n Thank you for your service! 66 PULSE n march 2019
