Angela Cortright Making Her Mark By Mae Mañacap-Johnson Cortright founded Spa Gregorie’s, a small day spa, in 1998. A decade later, Spa Gregorie’s has expanded to three locations (Newport Beach, Rancho Santa Margarita and Del Mar, California). With Cortright’s combined leadership and marketing skill, the spa continues to impact the lives of the community it serves through programs like “Caring for the Caregivers” and fundraising initiatives for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. FASTFACT S pa Gregorie’s founder and this year’s ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award recipient Angela Cortright is an established business leader in her own right. She has recently been honored as “Business Owner of the Year” by the National Association of Women Business Owners Orange County and was named “Enterprising Woman of the Year 2011” by Enterprising Women Magazine. Of all the recognitions she has earned, she is most proud of her humanitarian work, particularly her contributions in bringing the healing benefits of spa to a larger community. After all, she herself was touched by spa’s healing power when she was then a highly stressed-out executive in a high tech industry. “I entered a wreck, but left as a functioning human being again,” she recalls of her decision to make a career change. As she continues to make her mark in the spa industry, Pulse gets upclose and personal on what fuels her passion to give back and how she plans to continue to make an impact. My greatest contribution to the spa industry so far is: Greet the Day, a nonprofit organization initiated by Spa Gregorie’s and founded in 2003.
