2. Grand Traverse Resort and Spa near Traverse City, Michigan
announced a new package for small groups. The “Wine &
Unwind Spa Getaway” package includes two-night accommodations, one spa service at Spa Grand Traverse and a
four-hour wine tour to either Old Mission Peninsula or the
Leelanau Peninsula.

British Columbia, recently released a new book, Getting Great
Spa on the Road to Wellness. The new guide gives an
insider’s perspective on the world of spas as well as a behindthe-scenes look at various spa treatments and details the

Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. continues to make strides
toward reducing its carbon foot print with the addition of the
Washington Gas Energy Services’ “CleanSteps Carbon Offsets” and
“CleanSteps WindPower.” The purchase of these green energy services reflects the hotel’s strategy to improve its environmental
performance through reduced greenhouse gas emissions from energy use.
Their sustainability initiatives include optimizing water usage, minimizing
waste and educating guests and the general public about its efforts toward
environmental stewardship.
