Kristine Bonsack Melanie Edwards Shawn Hallum ● Kristin Bonsack has been appointed to the newly created Director of Wellness position at the Island House Spa at the Longboat Key Club & Resort in Longboat Key, Florida. Bonsack will oversee all spa, fitness and wellness-related activities for club members and resort guest. ● Melanie Edwards, previously in a consulting position within SpaEquip, recently joined the company. ● Kimberlee Geng has been appointed National Education and Training Manager for Sothys USA Inc. Geng’s new responsibilities include developing tools and protocols for product usage and professional treatments, designing and implementing training and organizing educational classes, trade shows and networking events. ● Soraya Thonier has been named the new Marketing Coordinator for Sothys USA Inc. Formerly the Marketing and PR assistant at Fraiche PR in New York, Thonier will bring her knowledge to the Sothys team to assist in expanding business and strengthening existing customer relationships as well as developing marketing plans for product launches, promotions and educational materials. ● Robert Vance is the new Vice President of Operations, Mid-Atlantic & Southeast Region for Red Door Spas. With his new appointment, Vance has resigned from the ISPA Board of Directors per the ISPA Bylaws. ● Shawn Hallum is appointed Vice President of Operations, Northeast Region for Red Door Spas. Soraya Thonier Robert Vance OPEN FOR BUSINESS ● The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge of Charlotte, North Carolina announced the completion of a renovation to The Spa at Ballantyne. The makeover includes new earth-toned décor, upgraded equipment and lighting and tranquil lounge areas, while maintaining a sleek, contemporary look. Along with the renovation, Spa Ballantyne has also introduced a new menu of spa treatments inspired by the Four Elements—Earth, Water, Air and Fire. ● Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia recently completed the second phase of a comprehensive $3-million transformation to the European-style spa. The $1.5 million second phase renovation includes improvements to all guest suites at the Spa, two spa library areas, the Fleur de Lis restaurant, front desk, gift shop and lobby.
