Session: Manage, Monitor and Motivate Your Team and Your Business to Greater Success Speaker: Jaclyn Hughes
“
Jaclyn Hughes kept us all alert with her wit and wisdom. I loved her simple, almost old-fashion way of communicating within the spa setting. We have implemented this tool in our spa and it engages everyone in the communication process.”

Session: How to Rapidly Grow Your Business with New Social Media Strategies Speaker: Michael Stelzner
“
Michael [ Stelzner ] shared some great recommendations for thirdparty applications to use for Facebook contests. This really perked my ears up because Glen Ivy’ s fans love participating in contests, but Facebook’ s rules and regulations change so frequently that it is difficult to stay up-to-date and within their guidelines. After Conference, I did some research on the apps he suggested and found some others I knew would be a perfect fit for Glen Ivy. Using the app, we launched a‘ Share and Win a Spa Day Contest’ on the Glen Ivy Facebook page to encourage‘ likes’, shares and e-mail subscriptions, receiving over 650 new‘ likes’ on Facebook, over 250 new email subscribers and over 1,560 shares.
My favorite part about this session was not learning something new, but rather gaining a new perspective on an issue or challenge I had been thinking about, and finding a creative way to make it work through the inspiration and successes shared by others.”
SMARTTIP
Stelzner cautions on Facebook’ s strict contest rules. He strongly recommends using third party apps like strutta. com or wildfire. com to launch Facebook contests.“ You can’ t simply say‘ like us on Facebook to get a massage,’ you can get banned [ doing that ] from Facebook,” he warns.
