Cortright was recognized for her many contributions to ISPA and the spa industry in general, including her humanitarian work. “You can’t stand on the sidelines and be a spectator to achievement,” Cortright said as she challenged the audience to be more involved. Get on Board the Happiness Bus! “Your culture is your brand, don’t try to be someone you are not,” advised Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh. He encouraged the audience to get on board the “happiness bus” by creating a strong company culture which is critical to developing loyal employees and happy customers.“What if you spent a little bit of your time studying and learning the science of happiness?” he asked. Ultimately, Hsieh said, the lasting kind of happiness is happiness with meaning or a higher purpose.
