Visis NETWORKING AND Attendees mingled and networked up until the last Conference day. Some even rushed to get a copy of the new Financial Management for Spas or the 2010 ISPA Industry Study Day Spa and Resort/Hotel Supplements at the ISPA Resource Center. THE SIGHTS: What better way to wrap up the four-day Conference than by bouncing off ideas with industry peers at the Roundtable Networking and Learning Sessions? At the General Session, Precor CEO Paul Byrne, HelmsBriscoe CEO Roger Helms and Women for Hire CEO Tory Johnson shared their insights on today’s consumers and the trends impacting the spa industry. Ypartnership CEO Peter Yesawich moderated the panel. Then, just before Conference officially ended, a few more attendees were spotted doing their final round of resource shopping at the ISPA Resource Center. THE SOUNDBITES: Attendees thought the panel provided strong insights on how spas can serve today’s time-deprived consumers. One trend identified is the need for spas to tailor-fit treatments around their customers’ busy lives. To quote Johnson: “Comfort comes from customization.” ■ 52 PULSE ■ January/February 2011
