CelebratingGENEROSITY

THE SIGHTS: Giving took center stage on Tuesday’ s Conference. Wine to Water founder and 2010 ISPA Alex Szekely Humanitarian recipient Doc Hendley, whose foundation has brought clean water to 50,000 people in nine under-developed nations, shared how he took small steps to do big things. Deborah Szekely was also on stage to accept her 2010 ISPA Visionary Award. Later in the evening, it was the attendees’ turn to give as they bid at the ISPA Foundation Live Auctions.

THE SOUNDBITES: Laughter and chatter filled the Live Auction room as members outbid each other for weekend escapes, products and priceless memorabilia. Perhaps the only people more excited than Auction host Lawrence Biscontini, garbed in a Majestic International robe, were the raffle winners who weren’ t able to contain their joy! Best of all, a little birdie told us Hendley— who made an appearance at the Live Auction— was so moved by everyone’ s enthusiasm to give, he opted to donate his Conference fee to the Wine to Water foundation.

Doc Hendley and Deborah Szekely were gracious to accept their awards during Tuesday ' s General Session. The audience enjoyed the moment as they listened and took in the message of giving.
