And as much as I hate to admit it, the smart-aleck is right. When genetic gifts poured from heaven, I missed out on the athletic genes. But while I’ve never really been to a marathon (the most running I’ve ever done is on a creeping treadmill), the prep work we do for the ISPA Conference & Expo is my closest version to a marathon. Like this demanding sport, putting together such a big event on a yearly basis requires early planning, commitment to hard work and passion for success. This year was another great run. Based on attendees’ Conference survey, the 2012 ISPA Conference & Expo delivered on its promise. Some called the event an “unforgettable experience.” Others said “inspiring.” PHOTO © TIFFANY BROWN “Pulse celebrates every laughter, experience and inspiring ISPA Conference moment one video and photo at a time.” My favorite feedback is from one attendee, who claimed she can’t stop smiling after Conference, and that the event was like a “happy drug” (see “Last Words,” a sidebar article of “2012 ISPA Conference & Expo: Inspiring Moments” on page 44). This year’s speakers were, undoubtedly, a big hit. Every single one of the highimpact and high-profile keynote speakers packed a punch when it came to educating and inspiring attendees—whether it was finding one’s way to greatness, seeking FOLLOW US ON TWITTER! @ISpaDoYou LIKE US ON FACEBOOK! InternationalSPAAssoc elevation in order to innovate or reconnecting to one’s mind, body and spirit (read Lisa Kasanicky’s “On Greatness, Innovation, Health and Gratitude: A Day-by-Day Recap of ISPA Conference Takeaways” on page 26). In the end, making it to the finish line was sweet victory, and Pulse celebrates every laughter, experience and inspiring ISPA Conference moment one video and photo at a time.
