INTHELOOP with the Chairmen’ s Council

Jean Kolb

DIRECTOR, KOHLER CO. KOHLER, WISCONSIN
What is your most important takeaway from the ISPA Conference this year? For me, it was the message of the“ 20- mile March” by Jim Collins. I will never forget his hand banging on the podium [ as he said ]“ Day after day after day after day!” Consecutive, consistent performance— day after day.
How do you plan to specifically implement these takeaways from the ISPA Conference in your spa? Similar to [ how ] we did with his Good to Great book, we will provide copies of Great by Choice to our management team, and we will read and discuss together. We will apply the key principles to our operations. We are fortunate to have received the Forbes 5-star rating. The only way we will maintain the [ rating and standards ] year after year is via our [ own ] 20-mile march of consistent performance. Jim Collins, I love that man!
