WHAT’S ON YOUR DESK? If a man’s home is his castle, then what’s his work space? For some of us, it’s organized chaos—piles of paperwork, tons of sample products, corkboards painted with colored Post-its, the list goes on. And then there are those whose cubicles are serene sanctuaries, devoid of clutter, except perhaps for an indispensable Mac, favorite spa book and a calming candle. THE DESK OF: JOE CONTORNO PRESIDENT AND CEO OF CHRISTINA-USA 10 5 7 9 2 6 4 3 8 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Radio with an IPod docking station—constantly playing classical music. Photo of me and my granddaughter Hanna who was just a day old when the picture was taken. My computer and spare hard drive. I have a LOT of files! The Christina Guide Book (aka: my bible). This book includes a wealth of science behind the line as well as information on all the products, treatments and ingredients. An electronic pencil sharpener. I know, in this day in age, who still uses #2 lead pencils, right? But sometimes I need to disconnect from the fast-paced life/technology and reconnect with my thoughts by drawing what I am thinking on a pad using a pencil! 6. My two go-to Christina products: Line Repair THERASKIN + HA and Unstress Probiotic Eye & Neck Cream. 7. More family photos. I rotate them—the one in front is at my daughter’s wedding. But of course, I swap that out for my wife’s picture when I know she is coming to visit the office! 8. My eyeglass case. 9. Magnetic board with to-do things, held in place with a magnetic seashell. 10. View of the Gulf of Mexico. Staring at the beach helps me mentally disconnect and de-stress, allowing me to focus on the task at hand. ■ However you define your work space, we’d love for you to show us! Snap a photo, send to [email protected], and let us take a peek. December 2011 ■ PULSE 63 1
