WHAT’ S ON
YOUR DESK?
If a man’ s home is his castle, then what’ s his work space? For some of us, it’ s organized chaos— piles of paperwork, tons of sample products, corkboards painted with colored Post-its, the list goes on. And then there are those whose cubicles are serene sanctuaries, devoid of clutter, except perhaps for an indispensable Mac, favorite spa book and a calming candle.

THE DESK OF: DR. PAUL HESTER OWNER • BE MEDISPA • LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY
1. Books for reference or inspiration. I tend to stick with authors who write frankly and present compelling evidence.
2. Football. Coaching high school athletes consumes precious hours, but every hour I have invested has been given back ten-fold. The smell of the grass and mud is my aromatherapy … the jerseys, not so much.
3. MacBook. Social media is the tool that keeps our clients and prospects informed. We have used Facebook, Twitter, and other mobile media tools to stay in touch and educate our immediate market.
4. Binder with charts. It takes time to keep good records for your clients, but it’ s how you provide them the highest level of care for years to come.
5. Be Medispa logo. Innovation is what has made the medispa business more fun than other professional pursuits. The logo also symbolizes my plan to make medical-grade cosmetic solutions more accessible to consumers.
6. Framed photos. My boys have reached college age and will soon have their chance to conquer the world. Photos of the family spending fun times together are priceless.
7. EMS Athletics pass. Is there a doctor in the house? That’ s a phrase my critical care background will never let me ignore. I have volunteered as a house physician at Rupp Arena and Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky for two decades now. ■
However you define your work space, we’ d love for you to show us! Snap a photo, send to ispa @ ispastaff. com, and let us take a peek.
