ISPA offers the following list of retail-focused tools to its members.
RESEARCH AND BUSINESS TOOLS The Retail
Management for Spas: The Art & Science of
Retail is full of valuable information to help
you comprehend the realm of retail. The book
covers Retail Planning, Purchasing, Inventory
Management and Marketing, among other topics.
In conjunction with the textbook, the ISPA Retail
Management for Spas course is designed to help
professionals succeed in retail sales. Another useful
textbook to consider reviewing is Financial
Management for Spas. Having a better understanding of the financial side of business will help you maximize your spa’s
profitability.
WEBINARS In addition to textbooks and courses, ISPA hosts monthly webinars which you can access online, like Carol Phillips’ “Rock the House with Retail
Sales” which included segments from
her 2011 Professional Development
Session on proven ways to ignite retail
and service sales.
SNAPSHOT SURVEYS Each month,
Snapshot Surveys are available for members to complete and download. Survey
participants can access the results free, so be sure to take part of this monthly
survey. To know what retail strategies your peers are using, download the May
2012 Snapshot Survey which focused on “Retail Practices.”
Before turning to other costly resources, tools and information, remember that as
an ISPA member, there are several exclusive or free educational tools and opportunities available. ISPA is continuously striving to provide the most current and
relevant information to its dedicated members to help their business thrive in this
competitive industry.
